Healing From the Inside Out with Jennifer Alhasa
Perhaps everything terrible is in its being something that needs our love.“ – Rainer Maria Rilke
I’m so blessed to co-host this 11/11 #SpiritChat (9am ET on Sunday), "Healing from the Inside Out,” with Kumud. As winter arrives and we honor the Mercury Retrograde energy around us, it’s important to go inside – literally and figuratively. That is where our warmth, our heat, our hearts and our songs are found!
Healing is near and dear to me and I wouldn’t be here without it. A survivor of advanced breast cancer, I learned the hard way what it takes to heal a body, a soul, a spirit and a life. It’s incredibly scary when dis-ease or illness strikes. The temptation to give up, be a victim and say, “I can’t do it” is great. That was my initial reaction; I didn’t want to undergo 9 months of treatment and I didn’t think I was tough enough. Lucky for me, I was wrong!
What is it, then, that allows healing to happen? What can we do inside to spark our immune system into action? How come some people survive and others don’t?
Illness is an invitation, an opportunity and sometimes an insistence to tend to the temple of your body and the seat of your soul. It’s a gauntlet thrown down in life and I like how Ram Dass put its, “Healing does not mean going back to the way things were before, but rather allowing what is now to move us closer to God.”
I look forward to unpacking this with you!
Love, light & healing glow!
